After 10 years of doing technical drawings I started using vector graphics software (Adobe Illustrator) in 1997 to do portraits.

For portraits I still prefer it today over pixel based software like Photoshop. I love the beauty of the bold and well defined areas that have a graphical quality.

Once the lines are defined I laboriously optimize the colors. Then it gets printed by the Giclée process using an Iris Printer. I use premium archival quality Arches or Somerset heavy weight watercolor paper. I usually print up to a full sheet size which are 48" x 36". The resulting colors and texture is absolutely wonderful.
